At WarrantyHub, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile app and website (collectively, the "Service").

By using WarrantyHub, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Personal Information: Name, email address, and account credentials (when you sign up with Apple, Google, Facebook, or email).
Warranty Data & Receipts: Product details, purchase dates, warranty periods, receipt images, and any notes you add.
Automatically Collected Data: Device information, IP address, app usage analytics (anonymous), and crash reports to improve the Service.

      Important: We never manually read your emails. We only use secure machine-learning algorithms to analyze email data for the sole purpose of automatically importing receipts and warranty information.
    

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and improve our warranty management service (track warranties, send reminders, organize receipts).
Process and analyze receipt images and warranty data using AI to automatically extract key details.
Send you important notifications about expiring warranties.
Enable features like calendar syncing for reminders.
Improve our Service through analytics and bug fixes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We may share data only in these limited situations:

With trusted service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements.
If required by law, court order, or government request.
In the event of a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Third-Party Services & Integrations

We use the following third-party services:

AWS (Amazon Web Services): To securely store your data and run our databases.
Google Services: We request the minimum necessary permissions:
- Google Calendar (read-only access) – only to add expiration reminders when you choose to connect your calendar.
- Read-only email access – solely for automatic receipt import via machine learning (we never read emails manually).

Your Google access tokens are stored in an encrypted format and are deleted immediately when you disconnect the integration. Any calendar events we created will remain in your Google Calendar, but we will no longer be able to modify or access them.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide the Service. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings. Upon deletion, we will permanently remove your personal information, warranty data, and receipt images within 30 days.

Google Calendar access tokens are retained only while the connection is active. When you disconnect, we immediately delete all associated tokens and stop accessing your Google data.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. This includes encryption, secure servers, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at the address associated with your account and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
